CYMA Accounting Systems

Sherry Knight, C.P.A., one of our principles, wrote the first-ever review of General Ledger software for PC Magazine, many years ago. In that review of twelve different systems, she found that one named CYMA was far better than the others for flexibility and power, and for doing accounting properly. And we have been supporting the CYMA accounting system ever since.

CYMA is a "mid-range" accounting system, meaning that its price starts at several thousand dollars, and it has advanced functionality appropriate for organizations ranging from five to thousands of employees.

We are experts in the operations of CYMA, especially in the complex areas of payroll and not-for-profit accounting. We are also experts in building custom reports using Crystal Reports, providing custom reporting just the way you want to see your accounting information presented.

And for financial statements we can build you very advanced formats, from many column comparitives (departments or periods side-by-side) to tailored summaries with drill-down to the subsidiary detail reports -- all linked together in EXCEL with live links from your CYMA accounting data files.

ZLC Add-On Software for CYMA Accounting Systems

For more than fifteen years ZLC has been creating useful systems that extend the functionality of the CYMA accounting software, especially in the areas of payroll, construction, and not-for-profit accounting.  Here is a partial list of our CYMA add-on software; each is SEAMLESSLY linked to CYMA.  All of these systems are Windows-based software which link to both DOS and WINDOWS versions of CYMA.

W-2 CONTROLLER

Makes the end-of-year payroll reporting a paperless breeze. We automatically pull all of the relevant information from CYMA Payroll, compute the amounts, and produce the report files for the state and federal reporting.  Also produces substitute W2’s on blank paper (4 per sheet).  The key benefits of using our W-2 Controller are that you can "re-route" any wage/tax/deduction category into any of the SSA/IRS reporting "boxes", and you can also easily see/edit any part of the information going to the electronic report file before you build that file.

 941FACS

Produces I.R.S. approved 941, Schedule B, and 940 forms onto blank white paper!  Pulls all the information from CYMA Payroll and lets you view / edit the filled-in forms right on the screen.  You can adjust any aspect of the employee details, including re-configurations different from how it is in CYMA… 

JOB COSTING

Our Job Costing is easy yet powerful.  You set up jobs with estimate amounts by category, then enter actual timecards and invoice entries.  The matching for Job-To-Date Estimated-Versus-Actual reporting is automatic and instantly viewable.  The regular and overtime entries are posted into CYMA Payroll, and then the resulting Paychecks are brought back in for accurate Certified Payroll reporting.  You can set Overhead, Retainage, and Burden percents at any time and recalculate the job totals any time.  One sales tax rate is used for estimating, and the actual sales tax rates are determined by job-county or actual invoice amount, or local if from stock on hand.

EMPLOYEE VIEWS

A full HRIS (employee information system) that has over 30 history tables per employee, and many administration features such as instant personalized letters produced for any selected set of employees.  Fully integrated OSHA Safety Manager option and / or Training and Credentials Tracking options are also available.

Employee information can be updated automatically from CYMA Payroll as often as desired.  The Payroll Link program lets you control every data element coming from Payroll, including whether to link it, and whether to re-route certain data into the many employee category fields in Employee Views.  Multiple payroll data sets can be linked into a single Employee Views database, with the CYMA company code either added to the employee code, or sent to a category field.

SPECIAL TELEPHONE, CAFETERIA BILLING / STATEMENTS SYSTEMS

These are specialized front-ends that collect transactions, which are then merged with activity extracted from CYMA accounts receivable to create overall resident-Statements with varying levels of details, and which are then posted in summary into CYMA accounts receivable.  We interface large telephone systems and cafeteria systems in this way.

QUICKBOOKS Accounting Systems

Quickbooks is one of the most popular accounting systems available. As such it is often used even in some situations with larger or more complex needs. That is where we come in. If you are using Quickbooks and want some advanced help with setting it up with proper accounting controls and audit trails, or you want help formatting the reports, we can do that.
